College of Engineering students may take courses at other universities with pre-approved permissions. Key points:
- Credit decisions rest with faculty (Policy Manual Chapter 6, Section 89).
- Core classes may be taken elsewhere if NMSU cannot accommodate more students.
- Department approval required (provide syllabus/documentation).
- Course must be ABET-accredited, not graded S/U, and substantially the same as NMSU’s equivalent.
- Prerequisites must be satisfied or credit will be denied.
- Online courses must have proctored exams if scheduled.
