College of Engineering students may take courses at other universities with pre-approved permissions. Key points:

Credit decisions rest with faculty (Policy Manual Chapter 6, Section 89).
Core classes may be taken elsewhere if NMSU cannot accommodate more students.
Department approval required (provide syllabus/documentation).
Course must be ABET-accredited, not graded S/U, and substantially the same as NMSU’s equivalent.
Prerequisites must be satisfied or credit will be denied.
Online courses must have proctored exams if scheduled.
