Engineering Transfer Policy

College of Engineering students may take courses at other universities with pre-approved permissions. Key points:

  • Core classes may be taken elsewhere if NMSU cannot accommodate more students.
  • Department approval required (provide syllabus/documentation).
  • Course must be ABET-accredited, not graded S/U, and substantially the same as NMSU’s equivalent.
  • Prerequisites must be satisfied or credit will be denied.
