Professional Experience

Prior to moving to New Mexico and working at NMSU in 2008, Philip Braker worked in the Information Systems and Technology Department at a Credit Union in Wisconsin.  This gave him experience working in a security centric Information Systems environment that included Core ERP support; AD DS integration; enterprise desktop support; network architecture and security; enterprise database management, support, and report generation.  This position also required creating, updating and maintaining BCP and DR documentation on all systems to meet compliance requirements.  At New Mexico State University he supported the Research Department under the VP of Research as a Data Security Analyst responsible for architecting, improving, and maintaining a secure environment that met the needs of multiple research groups with varying levels of security needs.  Philip Braker started teaching fulltime as an assistant professor in the Engineering Technology department of NMSU’s College of Engineering in the Fall of 2016.  Promotion to Associate Professor happened Fall 2022
