Students should be advised by faculty in their major beginning March 27th – check the ETSE wed site for advising information on who is your advisor and the advising process.
It is required to get advising before registration and you should try to register as early as you are permitted (see above schedule link) so you get into courses you need – remember that some courses close when they are full so “the early bird gets the worm” cliche is appropriate here.
Come to advising prepared to discuss your career goals as well as your course schedule. Now is the time to make some life choices that your advisor may help. Consider an internship, a study-abroad option, a Minor to increase your marketability. ….
If you are planning on graduating in May, then also make an appointment with the Department Head to do a degree audit to make sure there are no “surprises”.
