Students in NMSU’s engineering technology and surveying engineering (ETSE) department are designing and building a solar bus sign that will be used by the Aggie Transit to display bus schedules and other messages.
The bus sign is a solar-powered lighted display box and programmable LED message board that is mounted on a pole. The system is equipped with a solar panel which provides power during the day and also charges a battery that will run the system at night and on cloudy days. The LED message board can be programmed to display up to 250 messages at specified times of the day.
The system is designed and built by students in the ETSE department as part of the renewable energy technology minor.

The student run and operated Solar Furnace has recently undergone a major renvation. The newly upgraded furnace is a proving ground for "real world" high temperature applications.

The NMSU Mini Baja team has built and is perfecting the Green Baja. Green Baja, so named, is runs on bio-diesel. With collaboration among the Mini Baja team, members of NMSU SAE and students from the Department of Chemical Engineering, Green Baja is one amazing ride!

The Concrete Canoe team is on the green path! Our team uses recycled material in its constructs and along with green practices, the team has tested and verified the '08/'09 canoe, "The Resureccion", meets the LEED's gold standard. The Resureccion placed 1st in the the Regional Competition (Reno, Nevada)and with a crack in the bottom and some quick (not to mention innnovative) repairs- it rose again to place 6th in the National Competition in Tuscaloosa Alabama.
